AFOJA LAUNCHES THE FREELANCE NETWORK PLATFORM

As part of its commitment to support members and encourage positive interaction amongst football journalists in Africa, the Leadership of AFOJA has agreed to start up a Freelance Network.

This platform will be a feature that will enable all freelance journalists to join, to register their areas of operation, geographical location and strengths for AFOJA to circulate internally and to the outside world for organisations that might need services of freelancers from time to time.

As President of AFOJA Dr Tunde Adelakun put it, ‘we have a very busy year ahead of us in African football. With the World Cup qualifiers, the CHAN, the AFCON plus clubside competitions all through, we would like to see as many of our members engaged, working to bring news and features to the African football audience. We know there are organisations out there, media houses, that have specific needs and could do with the in-depth knowledge and experience of some of Africa’s finest in journalism. Even within AFOJA, we have members who work for such media houses who don’t know of the strength of our members and can use them to get the news they require.

‘This is why we set up the Freelance Hub. Any journalist who is open, available and willing to do freelance work can register. Fellow hub members will be able to access their details and contact them for any specific needs. While AFOJA will also be able to share the details of the Hub members with organisations that just might need a helping hand with the coverage of all the activities highlighted above’.

To join the AFOJA FREELANCERS HUB, fill out the form below and the information you provide will be processed and acted upon immediately.
